RETINA UK SIGHT LOSS SURVEY 2022 Findings from our survey of almost 700 people living with inherited sight loss
Summary
Retina UK conducted a survey of almost 700 people living with inherited sight loss conditions in the UK.
The survey aimed to understand how sight loss affects everyday life, what support and services people can access, and how best the charity can support them to live a fulfilling life. The survey found that most respondents are sight loss registered (87%), compared with 84% in 2019. Two thirds have been diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa. Two thirds were diagnosed over 20 years ago.
